Echelon California - Grigio

Vineyards & Harvest

Brilliant aromas of juicy pear provided from grapes grown in Monterey County combine with lemon zest notes from those sourced in the warmer microclimates of the Central Valley to deliver a fruit-forward, refreshing Pinot Grigio. A cooler than usual growing season allowed the grapes to hang on the vine longer, ripen slowly and enhance flavor development. The grapes were picked at night to maintain ideal sugar levels and freshness which makes for a vibrant, crisp finished wine.

Winemaking

The grapes for Echelon Pinot Grigio were destemmed, crushed, immediately pressed and allowed to settle overnight. After settling, the juice was drawn off into stainless steel tanks and combined with select, pure yeast where it was cold fermented and stored for one year until bottling. Malolactic fermentation was not allowed to occur in order to preserve the crispness of this wine.

Tasting Notes

Echelon Pinot Grigio is a palate pleasing, pool-side wine. Delicate aromas of melons, figs and a hint of lemon burst forth from this refreshing, quaffable wine. Dry on the finish, with a slight mineral acidity. Bright flavors of tart green apple and tropical melon grace the palate for a bright, crisp taste.
