Vineyards & Harvest
Ideal growing conditions - long, hot, dry summers tempered by cool breezes coming
off of the Sacramento River Delta – make the Lodi growing region perfect for Cabernet
Sauvignon. Our California Series Cabernet Sauvignon features deep, black-fruit flavors
supported by supple tannins and an elegant finish.
Proven canopy management practices were utilized throughout the growing season to optimize
fruit quality. Just after bloom, leaves were selectively removed from the morning
side of the vines to maximize airflow and purposefully left on the afternoon side to
provide natural, necessary shade for the grape clusters. A relatively cool summer allowed for
slow but steady ripening. Harvest began in late September and was complete by the
second week in October.
